This post is also available in: Italian

If your Samsung Galaxy Core Duos (GT-I8262, GT-I8260) doesn’t charge the battery properly, probably the device’s MicroUSB charging port is damaged .
In this article, we will help you to replace it by yourself!

What you need:

  • Samsung Galaxy Core Duos USB charging port
  • Plastic opening tools
  • Phillips screwdriver

Proceed with the Samung Galaxy Core Duos USB charging port repair

STEP 1
Turn off the phone and remove the back cover.

STEP 1
Now, remove the battery, the MicroSD card and SIM card.

STEP 2
With a Phillips screwdriver, remove all the screws from the back of your device.

STEP 3
With a plastic tool or iSesamo, remove the middle frame.

STEP 4
Unplug all the connectors and the antenna cable from both sides (signed by circles).

STEP 5
Remove the motherboard. We advise to lift it bottom up, so as to free it from any flex cable that hinders the extraction. If there are some resistances, do not pull it over. Sometimes, flex cables, even if disconnected, can give some discomfort during the removal of the motherboard. Particular attention should be paid to the hook holding the motherboard!! If you notice that the motherboard is hard to remove, make sure to extract it properly from this hook (circled on the picture below).

STEP 6
Remove the screw that fixes the charging port.

STEP 7
With a plastic utensil remove the connector, that is fixed to the frame with double-sided tape (we often  use a metal spudger, but only on old components).

STEP 8
Fit the spare part and reassemble the device.

NOTE: You could replace the connector without removing the motherboard, but we do not recommend. The working area is restricted and you could damage some components!
