If you are experiencing issues with charging your Samsung Galaxy A3 (A300), probably the device’s MicroUSB charging port is damaged.
In this article, we will help you to repair it by yourself!
What you need:
- New connector
- Plastic opening tools
- Heat gun
- Phillips screwdriver
STEP 1 Turn off the device;
STEP 2 Heat the touch screen for 5-10 minutes with a hot air gun;
STEP 3 Apply a suction cup and raise the glass. As the glass is partially raised, insert a plastic opening tool;
STEP 4 Disconnect the touch screen connector from the logic board, as shown in the picture below;
STEP 5 Go on with the removal of the touch screen, taking care of the Menu and Back soft keys. Help with a tool to unstick them from the old touch screen without damaging them. Put aside the Home button that must be placed again before reassembling the device.
STEP 6 Remove the SIM card and the microSD slots, helping with the eject sim;
STEP 7 Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove all screws from the middle frame;
STEP 8 Make sure to disconnect the Menu and Back keys and, with a plastic tool, take out the middle frame and motherboard (together).
STEP 9 Disconnect the antenna cable and all flex cables. Then, remove the two screws.
Behind the motherboard, marked with the arrow in the picture, we find the flat of the dock connector. Disconnect it. Now, remove the mainboard.
STEP 10 Remove the dock connector from the frame and remove the antenna cable (which will be repositioned in the new parts).
STEP 11 Insert the new connector, and reassemble the phone. You can follow reversely this guide.
