How to access UEFI Bios on Windows 10, 8.1 and 8

With the introduction of Windows 10, 8.1 and 8, Microsoft has presented us with many new features. These innovations have made our computers more complete and very similar to mobile systems. One of the most important updates was the introduction of the new Bios UEFI.

This new firmware interface has several advantages, including:

  • Versatility in management;
  • Quick startup of the system;
  • Security boot (secure boot).

If you have tried to access UEFI Bios, you have seen that you can no longer enter the BIOS in the “old way” by pressing the classical Delete, Esc, F2 (depending on the models) when you start your pc. To access them, the old combinations will not be enough, but we have to follow a specific path.

How to access UEFI Bios on Windows 10

  • From the Windows logo at the bottom left, click on Power and choose Restart by holding down the Shift key (MAiusc);

  • Wait for the restart and in the screen below choose: Troubleshoot – Advanced Options – UEFI Firmware Settings – Restart;
  • At this point, we will be shown the Uefi Bios.

How to access UEFI Bios on Windows 8.1 and 8

  • Let’s go to the Charms Bar (the retractable bar on the right of our monitor);
  • Click on Settings – Power at this point and choose Restart by holding down the Shift key (MAiusc);
  • Wait for the restart and in the screen below choose: Troubleshoot – Advanced Options – UEFI Firmware Settings – Restart;
  • At this point, we will be shown the Uefi Bios.
